LAPIDUS Safety Consulting was formed in January 1993 to provide clients with safety
management consulting and training designed to fit each organization's style of
management and culture. The target was and is to prevent losses, mitigate risk exposures,
comply with applicable governmental regulations, and to help clients deal with their
safety and management issues.

Bob is a member of the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Administration Honor Society and
has taught as an adjunct instructor at Golden Gate University in San Francisco,

Center Incorporated, in Sacramento, California (1993 to the present).

Jim Emerson is a safety management consultant, working in both the public and private
sectors. His consulting background includes consulting in occupational safety and
health, liability loss control, and vehicle fleet safety management. Jim is a specialist
in vehicle fleet safety management and conflict resolution.

He is an industrial and manufacturing engineer, has a Bachelor of Science degree
in Mechanical Engineering from California State University at San Luis Obispo, and
has a Safety Specialist Certificate and Safety Manager Certificate from the Professional
Safety Institute, a division of the Safety Center Incorporated in Sacramento, California.

Jim performed staff duties and special projects involved with closing out and consolidating

manufacturing methods improvements. The emphasis was to perform these evaluations
and make recommendations based on ensuring the safety of manufacturing and assembly
employees.
As Section Manager, Jim supervised ten industrial engineers assigned to a machine
shop containing conventional and numerically controlled machines producing detail
parts for commercial aircraft and missile programs. During this period, Jim graduated
from the company sponsored 240 hour Industrial Engineering Professional Development
Program.
